Tell them that you wont agree to neuter as you plan to show him. But that you will help pay for the treatment. They have no right to make you neuter your dog. Be strong and firm with them. Tell them neutering is out of the question. And offer payment instead

ive had two dogs break a leg,the 1st time as ive said earlier the 2nd happened while lamping,so the pdsa was shut so i took her to an emergency vet they set her leg and cast it,the next morning i went to see her and they said that it would possibly need some pins in it,so i paid the £125 for work done and took my dog out of there right away, once home i rang the pdsa and told them what happened so i just tranferred her to them and again job done no pins no daylight robbery, they just got the local vet to fax over the details of the work they had done and the pdsa carried on from there ;)

i would urge you not to take it to the rspca mate get in with the pdsa heres the difference when i took the same dog to both of em

RSPCA...."is this dog used for running sir"

ME....."yes"

RSPCA...."im sorry sir but the extent of the break means that wouldnt be possible"

ME...."goodbye"

i took the same dog to the pdsa

PDSA...."do you use this dog for running sir"

ME...."yes"

PDSA...."dont worry sir she will be fine"

I can register him but it could take up to 10 weeks, if i had gone straight there first then they would have done it there and then but it aint classed as an emergency know and i would have to wait for registraiton to come through, i have phoned around 15 vets if not more and none of them will accept installments iv even been to see if i could get a lone today but i wouldnt get it in time, dont know what else to do and his wrap has to be changed by tomorrow, im stuck iv got to think of him now and get it sorted and hope hel be running again for next season.

Thanks again TD

but had that vet given her any treatment ? they said they would have seen him if he had just done it but because hes allready been seen to it was not classed as an emergency and i would have to wait for registration, the nearest one to me also said i was out of theyr catchment area and they gave me the number to the rspca vets i had already seen

yes mate the local vet set and cast her leg but then mentioned pins thats when i took her to the pdsa and like i said they just got the details from the vet and carried on where he had left it,minus the pins,i also said that the £125 bill was as much as i could afford at the time, hence the pdsa, theyre there to help people who cant afford vets fees ;)

I can't believe what I'm reading here! FFS the dog has broken its leg! It needs sorting NOW....not tomorrow, or the day after. Surely someone on here must live near the lad who would be willing to reccomend a decent vet and stand guarantor for him to say that he will pay in installments.

If the dog's leg isn't sorted soon then it ain't going to be doing a lot of running further on down the line, and as far as the Arspeca are concerned: don't give them the bloody satisfaction of lopping your dogs nuts off: b*****ds! :realmad: :realmad:
