MR TEA POT 1,287
Went to a field to snare a few hares(see snaring section)found a little 6 hole warren, ideal to get me started ferreting for the season. Took a white jill about 6 nets and my stop nets.Got to the warren put the purse nets down over the holes i could reach, some were right under the hedge.Put the jill in and waited, not a long wait a bit of thumping and wham a rabbit in the purse net, dispatched and seen it had myxi .The jill shown behind the rabbit turned round and went back in,reset purse net and waited, suddenly a bit of thumping and 2 rabbits bolted at once,1 hit a purse net and the other shot down the hedge and hit the stop net,got the one in the purse net, went to the one in the stop net and it had a touch of myxi as well .Still not a bad 10 mins sport. The myxi rabbit went on the muck heap. A few pics of the morning. My beloved motor the best 4x4xfar. The hedge at the back of the motor as a few big warrens, when checking the snares i saw a few healthy rabbits running in.Might ferret that at the weekend The warren that was ferreted. My stop net, only started to use these last year i don't no how i manged without them, put many a bonus rabbit in the bag, that,s slipped the nets or bolted from a unseen hole. Waiting for a bolt and it come's End of day shot. And the muck heap as you can see there is a few pigeons on it and a fox looks like its had a feed. I will put setting a few snares round that soon. JoeD 24
Nice day by the sound of it except the myxi but I must ask why did you stick the myxi rabbit on the compost heap, they are still edible for you and the ferrets it's just rabbits that get affected by it. All the best, JoeD Quote Link to post

All the best, JoeD I could not bring myself to eat one at any costs.I am going to snare the muck heap for fox soon,so i thought they would make a nice bait to draw the foxes in.Was going to snare it today but forgot its the good ladys birthday tomorrow and she as the day all planned out from the minate we get up ,so because i could not check the snares i did not set them.
