Cheapest Ferret Finders?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I thought it would be useful for everyone to see the best value places to get Ferret Finders from - seeing they are the most expensive bit of kit (generally) in ferreting!

Ian Hodge Field Sports has the Deben MkIIIm on his website for £149 including one collar, For the MkIIIm with two collars it is £199.

Postage and packing is free in anything over £50

Can anyone beat that? (for total price including P&P)

The price of this stuff is ridiculous.. Deben even have all numbers removed from the components that make up their ferret finders/collars.

Because they know that anyone with a bit of soldering skill and a Maplins catalogue could put one together for a fiver!!

Ferreting's not (supposed to be) a rich mans sport is it??

I totally agree! Mind you 50 nets plus pegs will coust you a fortune!

Purse nets?? Make 'em at a cost of about £35 for 50 (in spun poly, using heavy rings) . . .

--Don't worry, I do! Spun poly is much better thatn spun nylon in my opinion too. But don't wanna get off topic (that's a whole other issue!)

So is Mr Hodge the cheapest for the MK111m??

They are on ebay for 189.00.This is the new mk3 with the switchable collars and it is with two collars.

Just type ferret into the ebay search and select the hunting option in the search results.

Postage is free.

I reckon if someone had the gonads to send one to a chinese electronics firm and ask them to make a couple of hundred then it could well lead to a profitable business. I bet they could knock up something similar for £20.

An electronics engineer should be able to identify the parts and make a list.. component cost is probably a coupla quid.

I've been looking for someone I can trust to send my Mk1 box to for this purpose.
