zini 1,939
Hi all, Just thought that id put up a quick post from 4 and half hours shooting with Festa today. We met at my permission at 1730 hrs and then went straight into a hanger i use to check zero. Festa brought along his Air Arms Pro Sport and i had my GunPower Storm. Firstly we went and did a quick check zero and a bit of fine tuning which didnt take more than 25 minutes for us both to be confident that our combos were putting pellet on top of pellet at a measured 30 metres. Ive always fancied the look of the Air Arms Pro Sport but never actually saw one in real life until today. Ive often wondered if the gun is as good as what people say about it in the magazines. Once Festa got it fine tuned at 30 metres i can assure you it is more accurate than any spring gun Ive ever used and more accurate than alot of pre charged guns. This was Proven by Festa's first shot on a 30 metres bunny from my car window, sat with the back of its head showing. That bunny roled over stone dead with a clinical head shot. This was the first of another 12 to come. Next we a drove around some of my permission and i showed Festa a field that i want to ferret soon. This is one of two fields that have good sets in them. Only a small field, about half the size of a football pitch, but it has a good ratio of bunnies in it. Just as we turned up there were 8 or 9 bunnies sat soaking up the sun. "Damm shame the guns were in the car". Them bunnies will be dispatched at a later date After watching the bunnies dive in front of the car from ever angle possible we parked up and went for a mooch about on foot. I left my gun in the car and opted for my video camera instead. Festa did the hunting and i filmed him in action. " Video to come out at a later date". After Festa knocking bunnies over clinically with the pro Sport he was kind enough to ask me if i would like ago of his gun. I was amazed with trigger system on his gun and just how quiet and silky smooth it is. I shot 5 pellets and accounted for 3 bunnies. 2 at 35 metres, just 1 mil dot up and 1 at 30 metres. 2 rabbits were lucky and i missed them, my bad shooting :realmad: The bunnies were really wise today though and seemed to run deeper into the undergrowth once we approached them, just out of sensible hunting ranges, not giving us the best chance to shoot them. I think that they are starting to wise up to whats going on . If we could of shot everyone that we saw we would of had a bag of well over a hundred im sure. To finish with we did some lamping using my gun with Festa shooting and me driving. This we did until my lamp batteries died on my Deben Stinger and we had to retire for the night. All in all it was a fun 4 and a half hours shooting and 13 rabbits will keep the game keeper and Festa's 11 ferrets happy for a while, but as Festa said to me in the car it doesnt matter how many rabbits on this land you shoot, you wont ever make a dint in there numbers due to the amount of them. Pictures are Festa in his Eastern European military style combats and blue t-shirt (bottom) and me in my advantage jacket and trousers (top). Regards Zini.
