What dog food should i buy?

Recommended Posts

I have about 3 weeks left of the puppy food Kylo has been on, he turned 1yr yesterday so i am going to move him onto adult food, trouble is i don't know what to buy, there is tooooo much choice and most of it is filled with crap.

At the moment he is on Wainwrights salmon puppy dry food, not excellent but a mid range food, costs £30 a sack, i want to spend a bit less if i can get away with it, about £20 a sack.

He has done well on wainwrights but i feel he is a liitle boney, only a little but i would like a bit more meat on him.

Any suggestions??

Your gonna get people saying, Barf !!!! it`s the only and best way, And barf is good, but hey it`s a free world, ;)

Here`s what i do, and mine dont struggle with holding weight.. to much if anything... A sack of complete food around £8 and dog mince for 20p a lb .

they get the mince with complete food as a mixer, they get chicken once a week, and probably a stew once per week, useing the pet mince, and whatever veg i`ve got in, they get garlic in their food regular too...

Yis Mars....

I did look into BARF when i got him but to be honest it confused the hell out of me, i'm sure what i read made it look more confusing than it is.................getting the mineral/vitimin balance right etc etc.

He does have veg/meat and garlic regular if there is any spare and i often throw in tuna oil onto his food so i'm not against that way of feeding at all, like i said, it confused me!!!

OK then.................if it is as simple as mixing in mince to a complete dry food......i can cope with that!! (just!)

Where do you buy the mince from so cheap?

I will defo think about doing this.

Chicken or lamb mince is without doubt the best food to put weight on a dog.The lamb we used to get was the bandsaw waste and this mixed with a good biscuit had to be watched the amount of weight a dog would put on with it.atvb dell

Meat is the best thing to give your dog,if he eats it,i get chicken carcess,s and turkey carcess,s for mine, have backs on them like horses.only thing now is i have to take a few pounds of them and get them ready for the season ahead, but remember, its easier to take it off than put it on,
