WILF 46,549
Do you keep black dogs WILF? I Yes mate, I do and I know lots of other lads that do as well. Now kenneling the dogs together is something different, I wouldnt kennel any dog with another dog.......tenshions arise and fights will break out.....kenneling and just rocking into other dogs is a completely different thing Edited August 26, 2009 by WILF Quote Link to post
shawbarker 0
Theres nothing you can do fella, thats the patterdale terrier for ya. What utter nonsense....... Batter the livving daylights out of the little c**t next time he rocks into another one of the dogs.......if he carrys on untill adulthood, get the c**t put down if you cant keep the dogs apart and you cant live with it. Some dogs are fighters and some aint.....its got feck all to do with the breed. Well said pal to right Quote Link to post

frankieboy 0
Theres nothing you can do fella, thats the patterdale terrier for ya. thats rubbish i know patterdale that will shit itself and run if a dog barks near in,,,dont talk crap!!!!!!!!!1 Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
try letting them in the garden to exercise, then you can in betwween them ifit gets rough. at that age he will need to learn what social behavior is acceptable to other dogs and more importantly you. let him with the lakey under supervision i'm sure he won't stand for any crap and put him in his place. just don't be too far away!! once that is sorted let another dog out of the kennel and so on..... is the whippet x a softie or also young? it must be a pain breaking your head over quarters for the dogs. is the pup otherwise coming on well? atb bud Quote Link to post
richc12 84
as im new to patterdales/fells/lakies, please dont blast me out of the sky doing a little research before i get myself a lil fell bitch... dog aggresion in most i beleave is lack of early socialication and discipline, is this so with the above.. im sure ive read somewhere that certain lines of patts suffer with the above trait.... correct me if im wrong!!! im not slateting any line nor do i want to start it, but to the expericenced terrierman on here are certain lines throughing up more dog aggresive or un-socialable behavior than others!! again, im sure ive read certain strains, are so calm freindly placid with people, dogs etc but DEMONS undergroud.... isnt this the pefect mix?? suppose its just not that simple Quote Link to post
BRYKAY 2
IVE HAD TOO MANY KENNEL FIGHTS IN THE PAST SO PEACE OF MIND FOR ME IS TO KEEP THEM ALL SEPARATED AT ALL TIMES, NOT JUST TERRIERS EITHER, IT DOESNT TAKE MUCH TO SPARK THINGS OFF... 2 OF MINE WERE BARKING AT A HEDGEHOG ON THE LAWN ONE NIGHT THEN NEXT THEY WERE BOTH STUCK INTO EACH OTHER, KEEP EM APART MATE. MOO 730
just abit of advice wanted iv got this patterdale pup hes cracking pup very foward but im just afraid he going to end some kind of dog killer i know this sounds so stupid but im trying to get him used to my other dogs but he seems evil iv kenneld him with my 7 year old beddy whippet come out the other day and he was proper ragging her ithought i will leave them a min coz she will have him in a minute she did then he went evil not playing like he woz possesd tanking her so i had to seperate them i dont want to keep him kenneld on his own so he does not get used to other dogs iv got an older lakey i could kennel him with but if the pup goes for him like that he might kill it i know this post sounds so stupid the pup is only 8 weeks old but he like a tank a bit of seriuos advice would be nice lads My serious advice: GIVE HIM TO MEEEEE PLEASE!!!!! Why would you want a dog that fights Quote Link to post
rushty 1
I just got a 8 week plummer pup and he looks and sounds as though he is gonna kill my two year old bitch and sometimes I feel i should stop him but the minute he goes over the top she nails him and he goes back for more until the bitch feels he is taking liberties and again he gets nailed ,,sometimes harder than others but the older dog knows when to put an end to it . I might be wrong but most working terrier pups are like this and they are just socialising really Quote Link to post
Relentless 12
keep a horse whip handy let it out with all other dogs and if it starts .. give it a good seeing to way the whip ... take it from me itl no want to fight again as soon as you bring the whip out .. just my opinion mate Quote Link to post
RatSnatcher 0
Sometimes terriers have big mouths and sound aggressive, when I get the lead out for my patterdale it sounds like ww1, she's 3 and to be honest its a fugging embarassment just to get them on the lead in public after driving somewhere for some exercise.... Steve McHardy 2
i have a patterdale bitch 7 months old she great with other dogs but a bitch with cats (dont blame her tho) but i still keep her in her own kennel knowing there breed the little bugger needs disipline try and keep him calm arround other dogs, distract him if he start to get the gander up an play with him if hes to tired to fight he wont. hes 8 wk so it can be stopped. as for kenneling with other dogs well if hes a male an on suite on his own is probs best my boys aint patts but i cant kennel them together there fine when there out but if kept together there would be a death nearly was when they decided co habiting wasnt for them at about a yr old made a fair mess. pmatty77 26
Oh dear thats patts for you mines the same ,brilliant with the kids but she dont like nothing else, and she is worse on the lead as well, funny thing is she dont make any noise at all,she just has their neck, only thing is most patts very submissive to humans so if you can perserve and keep telling her "no" quite forcibly she may come round, mines ok unless they start on her then ..well then they usually regret it,labs, collies anything they are totally fearless Quote Link to post
