lurcher lass 9
i do i similar feeding routine in that i get my working bitch to lie down in the living room to stay while i mix up the raw meat, dried biscuits and table scraps into three bowls, then i get the pups to sit and stay next to the bitch, pop the bowls in the stands, walk away from bowls with dogs still in a stay, walk til i'm standing next to them, wait a bit then i let them have their food, to which each dog will have his own bowl so i can keep check as to what dogs eating what etc have always fed my dogs this way since i was a kid, it helps form a connection between dog and owner and it only takes minutes longer then just dumping the bowl down . . interesting to watch the hounds being fed though, thank you lurcher lass xx Quote Link to post
the_stig 6,614
i`ve seen a well known hunt terrierman feed the same way not one dog stepped out of line till moved away .. same man used to walk 70 odd terriers off leads like a hound pack .. Quote Link to post
hotdog 8
total respect for there trainer, a dog shouldnt touch its food until its told it can, we have always fed our lurcher this way and our 12 week old terrier is already waiting until the ok command is given befor she eats. mind you not quite sure how you would keep a check on which dogs are getting enough with that amount, crazy lol Quote Link to post

ssssh1forthepot 0
I think the guy has them well trained but it doesnt look like an ideal way of feeding them to me, I mean how can he ensure that they are all getting the correct amount of food, it also looks like a little bit dangerous. just my opinon Quote Link to post
