symbols on my weihrauch HW 77

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I haVe rescentley bought myself a weihrauch HW 77. It is quite an old rifle but stil in realy good condition.. I noticed the other day when a friend and I were changing the spring that on the left and side of the barrel where it meats the spring housing there are two small ingravings, one of the is of a flat head pellett and the one next to it of a pointed tip pellett. They were put there by weihrauch when the gun was new and I think that this means that they are the best type of pellett to use in the gun but I am unsure :icon_redface:. And if I am right and this is what the symbols mean does that mean that dome pelletts don't work very well in the HW 77? and if not why? Any informaton would be appreciated. THANKS :)

As Stealthy and Davy say

Its just a simple way of saying Pellets and the Calibre.

Flat heads are generally used for paper punching in comps as they tend to give nice clean holes.

Pointed pellets are less accurate over longer distances because if they point gets a nick or a bend, then it becomes very unstable and less accurate. Most shooters around the world use dome headed pellets as they tend to be the best for hunting and general purpose plinking :)
