BARF Diet who's dogs are on it?

Recommended Posts

I feed mine on raw chicken/rabbit and complete dry food, mixed 50/50. I also weigh the portions so that I can keep an eye on the dogs weight. I was giving them no frills frozen mince from the supermarket, but they put on a fair bit of weight due to the high fat content.

BARF for me dogs are on fire with it 10 out ta 10 for me

IMO the secret to barf is variety, mine get fed . . . . .

Chicken wings/ carcasses,

Turkey necks,

Lamb breast,

Beef rib,

Whole rabbit,

Fish, all sorts.

Offal,

Duck carcasses,

Pheasant,

Horse,

Venison.

Tripe.

Variety of minced flesh.

I do not suppliment with veg very often . . . if i have some veg which is past it's best then i blitz it up for them to add into a mince meal. I tend to stick to a bone meal for 3 days, then a soft meal of mince and offal for 1 day. I have never seen my dogs looking better and am more than pleased with the results of a RAW diet.

I will also add that i know a lot that feed the cheapest dry food on the market and their dogs are in top condition . . . . just 1 of those annoying things i guess!

i normally soaked the biscuits in boiling water and leave them to puff up then add cooked mince and give them sardines in tomato sauce for omega 3 once a week /i thiknk thats the name of the fish \ and a raw egg yolk about 3 mornings a week with cornflakes and warm milk ,

sardines for -omega 3

egg yolk -protein

milk-calcium

works 4 me :)

feed fish from sunfloer oil instead, I think it helps my dogs coat

at the kennels i worked at a great dane was feed on the barf diet but he had a little (not even a cup full) of biscuits, he looked stonking, we do the same with our 2 great danes and their coats are lovely and they still work brill (great danes are gundogs, go figure!) however we do feed the labs on a dry food (DR johns silver) and every 3rd day put some meat in, we use chicken carcass's mainly.

BARF diets are fantasic and work brilliantly!

hi there this might sound daft, i got told never give your dog chicken bones is it a lord of bull :icon_redface:

ive bin givin my lurcher raw an dry wi some warm water

Chicken bones are perfectly fine for dogs as long as they are RAW....................... Cooked chicken bones become brittle and splinter, possibly resulting in problems.
