strip by hand or comb

hello guys an dolls bit of confusion about what way to strip my terrier

any advice would help as i have never done it thank you

i pull what i can by hand then finish with a comb, well an old hacksaw blade turned in a u and tied off. try putting a little talc powder on the coat first makes it easier to grab!!

strip by hand or using a mars. dont use a blade it will ruin the coat. use some chalk block to get a good grip. If youve not done it before get a hand stripping dvd or get an experienced person to show you.... not someone who uses a blade!!

You can get similar to an hacksaw blade from the pet shop, works a treat, but most have or do use hacksaw blades.

They dont look like they need doing ,when you strip it should come out easy as its dead hair that yr only helping out sooner they look tidy to me you will see when yr dog needs striping the hair is very dull and looks out of place i would try just a small area and if come out easy do it if not its going to be painful as its like plucking a live chicken so to speak ,realy your dog looks ok hes only just getting his first coat this year

I would leave it alone at that age mate, plus the summer is as good as over now...if it even started at all.

Myself i think its to young'And as said before the summer has long gone now by the look's of thing's so leave it till next year

Just make sure you use your thumb n finger as said because those tool's will split a good thick piece of hair in to two pieces of wooly bum fluff.

thanks for all the help and sorry that pic was at 12wks there now six months

and as i said his coat is really thick and cums out with a rub they are brothers

the smooth was the only in the litter lakeyxpatt a friend and keeper bred
