Having too big a sleeping area can cause this try reducing it ,and sprinkling citronella on the bedding sometimes stops them peeing on it.

Hi, The dog ,IMO, has got into the routine of using her bed as a toilet. But, accept, she isnt using the bed as atoilet in the real sense of the word. I think she is in the habit of doing that in her bed. I dont think it is anything to do with the physical aspects of the bitch. More so the mental rut she has gotten stuck in.

If the bitch were mine i would do the following.....

Change the orientation of sleeping arrangements. Change the bedding type, make the bed about as small as you can get away with. (This is temperary). You need to try and get her to start with a "clean sheet" so to speak. If she is on straw, put her on clothes, if she is on clothes put her on shreaded paper.

And, of course ensure she is able to have a little walk before she goes into her bed.

Good luck..JD

does the bitch tend to pee alot anyway? or just in her bedding?

could it be that she knows( as she should at this age) that the carpet is a no no and so goes on a more absorbant surface?

if she pees alot anyway she could have a bladder problem ( difficult to say what alot is really). funny colour/smell?

just a thought as no one seems to have considered a physical cause for the problem a yet.

have any pesticides been used on her bedding? strong smell to which she may prefer her own urine? change of bedding ( if you leave her with the peed on bedding does she still do it?

any competition for the bed?( another dog/bitch in the house) in which case she may be marking it?

hope you get it sorted out mate,i can imagine its unpleasant.

atb let us know how you get on bud.
