Miniature jarck russle

Recommended Posts

Does anyone work or know of working miniature JR's? Ive been offerd one as a pup due in two weeks and was wondering if they are anygood with bushing, bunnys, rats and all the rest like there larger counterpart.

Cheers Paddy

I think they are just a new "breed" to make more money and has very little to do with Jack Russells. I wouldn't waste my money for such a thing. In case you'd have to pay for it and the parenst are not prooven workers, why don't you just choose another mongrel from a shelter? Same result.

i would prefer a small legged jack russel to a parsons russel, the parson russel is way to big for bushing tight cover and thats a fact

My choice:

(5 months of age on the pics)

and:

Both are smaller sized Parson Jack Russells (or call them however). The above is a dog, is about 12.5"-13" (more than 1 year of age) and the bitch is about 12" or even a bit under (more than 3 years of age).

Great dogs - for any work choosen.

anna the parson russel is a mongrel just like the small type russel just because the money grabbing akc recognizde it, it dont make it any better because its got a bit of paper stating its a pedigree. even tho it aint

No breed was fallen fromn the sky, that's clear. ;) But there is MUCH difference when did they "mix" the "breed you have. Both my dogs are out of AKC/KC/FCI - this is really does not matter to me. Much more matter is their work and personality.

yes but at the end of the day they are still xbreeds and it dont matter when they mixed they are still mongrels :D

I don't think so. And I don't say pedigree makes the dog. (Hence my last post in which I said my dogs' pedigrees doesn't make sense in showing. They are not show dogs, but working dogs.)

There are so many working breeds, if one wants to have a working breed, can have one. :)

... and i thought its the parson in the money making game you no with that bit of paper that comes with it stating pedigree

I'll make my best to make you understand: my dogs are not (the show) Parsons! No Club, that would call them Parson (fe.: KC/ AKC/FCI) would recognise them. So I'm sure this is not the idea behind them.

Simple working dogs. With the name you like.:laugh:

I've got one and she's f#cking useless but she was neglected badly before I kindnapped her at about aged 3 she is now 5.

I've had 2 litters out of her. All bar one have gone to people who asked for pups before we let our male anywhere near her. out of 11 pups in total 7 came out minatures after the mum and what little crackers they are

i wasnt having a dig at your dogs in person atvb

I think my dogs are just as the general working Parson Jack Russells (or whichever name you choose). Not according to the KC/FCI/AKC standard and not for making money.

Best wishes,
