I WANT TO GO FERRETING NOW I live in Leicestershire ,as allways we have had dixi very bad down here,the rabbits are now scraping out theburrows for late litters,in fact ,all the doe rabbits i have caught recentlyare lined with small embryos,so the season wont properly start til late october if it stays mild Quote Link to post

ace32 4 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 will be up on my land tomorrow for a scout around,most of the young uns are away now,so scout a few farms out,find a couple of nice easy 3&4 holers to start the young ferts off,then get started properley in a couple of weeks,hopefully,got the first week in september off,so bideing,my time,cant wait,3 new ones to get started,and last years pair to get back into it,just might go check out me nets,oki doki,ian Quote Link to post

solostoke 1 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 not properly, i just turn up, say hello and clear the undergrowth ready for a few weeks time :-) maybe do a couple of 2 or 3 holers for the ferrets and let the rabbits bolt to get the dog in the swing of things. 410phil 4 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 Out on Sunday,been up there tonight and had six in about ten minutes with the Falcon and didn't see any young en's so our seasons starts Sunday,cant wait to get my new girls amongst the action I think they are going to be amazing,showing all the signs of been really good workers so they will each get a turn come Sunday,plus my two older jills who are fantastic.Anyway I am babbling ..can you tell I am excited??? lurcher lass 9 Posted August 22, 2009 Report Share Posted August 22, 2009 a farmer has been cutting back the brambles of the hedge line on me permission - never had such luxury before!! been doing day time mooching, get the dogs in the zone and start testing the training thats gone into them, odd lamp here and there but wont be starting up properly for 6 - 8 weeks, let the weather cool a bit first can't wait though!!! been chomping the bit since march!!
