You could keep saving and get both, I picked up a second hand pump action very similer to that mossberg but a brazillian copy for £50 and its hardly been used, the thing with second hand pump actions is there is very little that can go wrong with them see below picture its the one with a brown stock Quote Link to post

Also Aaron be aware some places are really funny about pump action and semi-auto shotguns and wont let you shoot, they prefer you to have a break barrell O/U or S/S for safety reasons Quote Link to post

rosspti 2
Hi Aaron I would say that a 20, 16, or 12 bore would all be fine for your pigeon shooting and for rough shooting. And high pheasant for that matter! However, I would (personally) advise against a pump action. They slow down your second shot greatly - think of the time difference between a) shot....pump.....shot or b)shot...shot Over and unders or side-by-sides are both available with single triggers and will be much more useful. If you really want a three shot then go for a semi-auto not a pumper. As "ssssh1forthepot" said, you may find that the rough shoot aren't too happy about a 3 shot semi, let alone a pumper. I would say that shooting game with a either a 3 shot or a pump action just isn't right. A 3-shot semi would be good for pigeons but a pumper is just too slow. Go for a single-trigger over and under for the best all rounder. Edited August 26, 2009 by rosspti Quote Link to post
