He had one of his dogs a 3 year old bite him without ever before showing any signs of human aggression. 2 days later he shot the dog..........he now has rspca and police on his back,it turns out his teenage son told his mate and bla bla bla chinese whispers,somebody reported him......they are trying to say he was bitten and then in temper killed the dog,when in reality 2 days thinking time had passed. But apparently as the law stands as long as there was no suffering it is ok.....Sux yes. But who said the law is right all the time....hence hunting ban! I was surprised but as you say the Law certainly doesnt always make sense to us mere mortals. As i understand things so long as unnecessary suffering isnt caused you could destroy any dog- i guess it comes down to an instant kill if shooting . Quote Link to post Share on other sites

He even went to the extreme of showing the police the body which as you can imagine was not a pretty sight. They are basically questioning....a, why he didnt take the dog to a vet to be pts !!!....his answer was why when he could do it himself for free. and b ,was blowing the dogs head off a viscious reaction of rage at being bitten !!!....his answer was he spent 2 days coming to a decision...rage doesnt last 2 days. With [fox+stag hounds] they put down old +injured hounds , they use [pistol]. I think they get [rspca] check them a few times. I think they might find it more humane, with a pistol than shotgun. He got let off because the dog was killed instantly, and didn't suffer. Should have had the same dome to him, IMO. Killing a dog because you're in a fit or rage is not the same as doing it for a legitimate reason, again JMO. As long as the dog didn't suffer, I can't see any case standing up in court Gnasher, tell your mate to keep a cool head, and maintain that the dog was his, and the killing of it was instant.
