i live near nottingham and

4 years ago i traveled to grenock scotland to buy a dog , because it was exactly what i wanted and i had waited 8 month for it.

last summer i traveld to kent to mate 3 ferrets cos they were the type i work , and there was nothing local.

i would travel the length and breadth of the country if it was somthing i wanted. GET A GRIP LADS AND DONT WASTE TIME WITH WANK EXCUSES.

Just over a year ago i was looking for a 1st cross wheaton Greyhound, and got in touch with Moorman1,

One trip down to check the dog out, then a second trip down to get her mated a few weeks later, roughly 1000 miles two round trips,

Moorman1 came up with 3 other lads to buy the pups when they were ready, and from what i`ve heard from the lads, they reckon it was worth their journey,

A fair few miles between us to get just what we wanted, if it`s what you want you`ll find a way....

Mars....

I agree,if its what you want then travel, the problem is not everybody can be trusted. The dog world is full of messers and bullshitters.Whilst i have been lucky with the people i've dealt with over the years, other people i know have travelled hundreds of miles only to be fed a load of shite,or be asked to buy shite.

One of my dogs came from a site member,i pm'd him, then spoke to him by phone,he asked for a deposit and gave me a date to collect the pup,job done.

in 1998 i drove to dublin from cork to buy a pit bitch pup,at the time there was snow all over the country, never saw the pups but the breeder was trustworthy.12 months ago i got the ferry with my son,we drove from cork to rosslare,3 hrs journey.left home at 5.00 a.m.then ferry to pembrooke, drove an hour and a half to the breeders house, picked up the kelpie.stayed till 6 and headed back but on the return journey the car broke down.only for this very decent AA man i might still be stuck on the side of the road,a dried out corpse, lol.got back to the ferry at 1 a.m. then we left at 3 a.m. and got back to rosslare at 7.30 a.m. and home for 11 a.m.i got 4 hrs sleep really for 31 hrs, hows that for an insane fixation on geting what you want.

I went all the way up to Scotland from Cambridgeshire for my Airedale, and I'd have travelled twice the distance if that is what it took: if I had the money I'd travel abroad for one or any dog that I really wanted.
