TOMO 26,067 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 im always amezed at the clowns on hear that use that old chestnut "IF YOU WERE CLOSER IDE HAVE HAD THAT", WHAT A LOAD OF OLD SHIT, you fooling no one but yourself. i live near nottingham and 4 years ago i traveled to grenock scotland to buy a dog , because it was exactly what i wanted and i had waited 8 month for it. last summer i traveld to kent to mate 3 ferrets cos they were the type i work , and there was nothing local. i would travel the length and breadth of the country if it was somthing i wanted. poacher3161 1,766 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 Just a pity theirs not the trust any more to make a 12 hour journey then find the pups kept poorly.I remember years ago [70s] a mate got sent a pup out of the exchange and mart from dorset by rail and turned out to be one of the bestdogs in the area at the time and T Mcphee sent a dog down to s.yorks by rail in the 90s as a journey to caithness would be a 20 hour job at least from s.yorks.atvb dell Quote Link to post Share on other sites

socks 32,253 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 if its something you want you will travell for it simple as ... i was regularly visiting ireland with the greyhounds as if you didnt you would lose out .... i sent 2 pups by rail up to scotland in the mid eighties wityhout the guy ever having seen them but i told him the exact breeding and what the parents were capable of and he was happy to take the word of a fellow dog man ... i heard from him 2 years later and he was over ythe moon with how the dogs had turned out ............
