Quick vid of Roo Rabbiting

Recommended Posts

Had to nip out and pick up some Puppy food so thought I'd stop at a permission on the way. Had the Wife and daughter in the car so only had 15mins! lol

I was holding the Lamp underneath the Cam and was watching the beam not the cam so slightly out of focus. :wallbash: and I can't edit, so it's 4 mins long for about 10 secs of action.

First Rabbit was a fair way off, so hiss Roo down the lamp, he trots down the beam then a squirt of speed and he gets it just behind the Stable.

Second Rabbit came out of the Nettles but Roo was following his nose and didn't see it run off. (you can hear me trying to get him to look up and see it, then calling him a shitbag for ignoring me as he ran on too late :icon_redface: )

Third Rabbit was a squatter (which are rare around here) and which Roo usually struggles with lack of experience on them, but he took this one easily. So was chuffed to bits with him.

Please excuse the constant whispering at Roo, he was being a little shit tonight! and just wouldn't walk to heel! and I didn't want to crack him on the ass, on camera! :clapper:

Hope I'll get better with a bit of practice,

All the best.

Thank you for the comments Guys and Girls, it a damn sight harder than I thought, trying to do it on your own! I needed more hands! Dog on a slip, Camera and a Lamp! you've got to drop one of them!

are you scared of the dark, and nothing realey good about that video mate

bet you got a lot of lamp shy bunnies around there

Thank you for the constructive criticism :good:

Any chance you could do a video for me, to show me how it's done? it would be much appriecated coming from an expert like yourself :notworthy:

Unfortunately the Camera doesn't work in the dark and rabbits aren't polite enough to wait around for you to turn the camera on and get yourself sorted out.

Plus of course me being a newbie to this Lamping lark, I haven't trained Roo not to run in :icon_redface: so if not restrained he will slip himself on a pair of eyes in the lamp, it would all be over and I wouldn't of got it video'd. So thought it best to just leave it all running.

It's only a few small fields that I usually keep cleared for the lady with the air rifle, but as I had to drive past and had Rooand Camera in the car, thought I might as well try and get a run for him.

Sorry your so disappointed!! :whistling:

There was only the three Rabbits in the field (there's never many around here) So only the one that got away might be lamp shy? and a .22 to the head will cure it of that. :good:

Yours expectantly,

Luke.

Fair play you had go, for the best result's try took keep the beam on as least as pos. If you pick a squatter ok use the beam, but if you looking for rabbits [quick on-off] . Thats what i do, not saying its the best, but its worked for me the last 25 years. Keep it up mate. Ray

Thank you Bird. :good:

I usually do turn the lamp off whilst walking about, then quick flick on and search for quarry, then off again. But as I was trying to video it, I left it on all the time. I've only got a 7ah battery so it wouldn't last long if left on all the time.

All the best
