I am not a medal hunter, but,as far as I know it is down to a few things........

weight

colour

symmetry

and,as it is done by a human I guess there would be a fair amount of personal opinion as well.

Martin.

p.s. it currently weighs 535grms

cracking shot mate. nice head.

as for body damage i would say that the misformation is due to a damage while in velvet and not cross lateral injury( as often seen).

possible wire damageat the base, see droplet formed. if as i am guessing there is not a third base (in german a "pet" meaning the place where it grows from th skull) or an elongation/deformity of this base( which would be rather rare)

all the same a smashing buck,

well done

exactly like that bud :clapper:

does he have a third "pet" what do you call it here?, the piece of bone between antler and skull( not thrown, reducing in size and angle with age)

he could of caused some trouble with an unforked "spear" like that, nice cull

love the pics. :notworthy:

I popped over the market gardens yesterday evening, and was promptly cornerned by one of the farmers(as they do)and,I just couldn't get away, and, the time was quickly disappearing from me,and, when I finally got away there was probably just 1 hour of daylight left,so,when I got into the first field and saw a very good Buck in the top of the field I was very very happy. He was right in the open, and,I couldn't get any closer to him,so,I took him from the bottom of the greenhouses,it was just over 200yds,and,he dropped like a stone. The shot went right through the top of his heart......................

and here he is,sorry, but,I didn't have my phone on me so took pics in the kitchen.............
