jamiew 11
after reading gaz,s topic as above, just wanted to tell a story to try and explain what i think he,s asking, as a teenager my girlfriend used to hunt with the brockelsby hunt and her farther and i used to follow in the land rover on one accasion the hounds got on a fox and it give them a fantastic hunt over fields across ditches, woods even through a farm yard, and finally when the fox was tirering it managed to climb up a fallen tree, the hounds were going mad underneath it it could of easy been climbed to or shot, but after 2or 3 minutes the huntsman looked at the fox and with the help from the whiper in took the hounds away, and when we all got back to the boxes it seemed everyone had a smile on there faces, and to me thats what that huntsman did respect his quarry please post your storys of respecting your quarry to try and help others to understand the meaning atb jamiew,
Guest Rod&dog
Watched a mink when following a pack of minkhounds climb a tree and watch the hounds roar past before climbing back down and continuing the way hounds had hunted past,, before sinking down a hole next to a badger sett and minites later a pack of hounds roaring at the entrance,,Huntsman decided to leave it be and give the critter some respect for another day. Sadly not done much minkhunting this year which is a shame as i always enjoyed hunting the riverbanks for mink.
