kristian 9
We've been quiet in work for a while now doing 2 days most weeks so knew it was coming (sort of)! Had a phonecall off my boss to go into the office today so went to see him to be told that we were being made reduntant Been working for him for 7 years so he has offered us either the one off payment £2100 (7 wks x £300) then shake hands and say goodbye or Take £300 a week for 7wks and if work picks up in that time we'll be taken back on? If we take the second option we will obviously not be able to claim any money (dole) and we'll also pay tax on it wtf do we do? also have been reading on goverment website that he is supposed to give us 7wks paid notice (1 wk for every year we bean there) then the redundancy at the end I haven't signed anything but some of the boys did. Now i'm well ferked but on the bright side the season is about to start lol only thing is i was about to buy another dog but looks like thats out the window life is shit sometimes init. ah well lets join the rest of the scumbags round here and go get some cans and get pissed everyday anyone got a job for me lol

Reply was "not our problem"

Clipper 207
its a weeks pay for every year youve worked there after the age of 20 maxium of 350 per week, they have give you a notice period , if not , they have to ask you to go , straight away but still pay you the notice period think they call it garden leave,,,, notice period depends on how long youve been there,,, also any amount of years over the age of 40 is 1 1/2 weeks pay

dicka 1
happened to me a couple of years ago you are entitled to one weeks notice for each year you have worked there you are then due your redundancy payment which varies depending on your age. this payment is also capped by the government.but is usually one weeks pay for each year worked over two years. Good luck mate! cheers everyone for the advice. We're stuck now cause we don't want to upset our boss because it looks like there maybe work round the corner but at the same time we don't want to be stitched for half of what he owes us just gonna take it day by day and hopefully get through it somehow! one of the boys has comfronted him and upset him and he sacked him and told him to get a solicitor (so we heard)! I've got 3 kids and a house to think of so can't go all guns blazing! sometimes life is unfair but i guess it's just sent to try us. Aw well time to go check my lottery numbers lol
