Heard the same story Simoman, from what I can gather Brightmore should have been in the book for his input into the 'black' terriers... Quote Link to post

Should be read by every budding terrierman-it cuts through a lot of b ulls**t and applies to any working terrier not just russells. Quote Link to post
david2363 42
A lot has been said of Plummer, and I think he did end up believing his own propaganda. I met him a few times, depending on what day you caught him on, you got a different bloke. One time I had a chat with him, he was polite and glad to chat to us (then) young lads. On other occasions he was an egotistical arsehole. However. The Fell Terrier book is in my eyes a masterpiece, and a seminal piece of work. Never again will such a book be written. Quote Link to post

Bill told me himself what he said to Plummer, dead right Chilli, he wasn't too polite about it and Bill was never a man to mince his words! Prior to the Fell Terrier being written, many (even the most unlikely) involved with dogs, had Plummers 'ear marked' and would tell him in no uncertain terms what they thought of him and from a few who did alow him 'in', they, no matter how hard they tried would eventually get 'rubbed up the wrong way' and fall out with him. The books still goood though!!! Quote Link to post

I'll bet you'll get plenty of interest and do your homework, as somebody else will Quote Link to post
