micky 3,325
I have just had a few days in Brixham ,while i was there we had fish and chips, not on the harbour ,but from Daves chip shop,a couple of streets inland, the price of fish and chips was over £7 ,that is about a 170 times as much as i paid in the middle 1950s, on the plus side, beer was only about 70 times as much. ssssh1forthepot 0
You need to come to Bradford mate, Fish & Chips £3. and you get massive portions aswell its probably not haddock or cod but some cheap imatation like pollock, but you get 2 big bits of fish at least 20cm long each and more chips than you could shake a stick at. One portion feeds me and the mrs and we never finish it!!!!

othickman 6
Who needs the fish when you can get a large portion of chips for £1.55 (but they are all you would want to eat chip wise, and the best chips I've had), and then a trip to the local supermarket gets you a small cake for another £1.50!! zigzag dan 784
as i work for a firm who supplies over 150 chip shops i can tell you the price of cod is governed by the stupid fishing qoutas set by euro mps - two thirds of cod thats caught is thrown back in - usually dead -as the fines for catching too much are huge !
