col g 0
been out tonight with the pup and the old dog for a mooch.managed to see a couple of rabbits but not in the numbers i normally see.on the way home the old dog put a rabbit into some thick cover on the side of a pathway.i thought she had lost it but i was wrong.on seeing the rabbi about to break cover i let the pup off his leader to follow the chase.the old dog flushed the rabbit ,it ran straight scross the path and into more cover.the pup seen the rabbit and dove straight in after it.he chased the rabbit about 10 yards through some really tight cover and i didnt expect him to get his prize but he did.this pup is coming on really well for his age.i didnt want to enter him properly until arond december time as that is when it is his first birthday, but the dog has decided otherwise.i held him back for as long as i possibly could but he is keen and is doing his job for a young dog. . a rat he caught a couple of weeks back his rabbit off tonight Quote Link to post

col g 0
He's coming on Col, bet you cant wait to get him out with the ferrets me and john had him away a couple of weeks back on our permission.we took my dog ferret up with us just to see how the pup would be.he was steady and never moved a muscle until a rabbit bolted which he grabbed in the net.he is also very quiet while waiting which im pleased about as other dogs ive had and one i still own are very inpatient and twist the place down.i just cant wait now for the season to start so i can get him going with the ferrets properly, but im pleased with his progress so far Quote Link to post
