aint being funny or cheeky mate but because a lurcher can win a show doesnt mean it isnt fast, and do the racing meets you go to in kirkaldy hold a show for lurchers and terriers or is this argument one sided? a lot of shows iv been to this year did hold lurcher racing, but some dont, you cant throw digs at show organisers because theres no lurcher racing you obviously take it seriously this isnt cheeky but if you take racing seriously and its something your into why dont you get a greyhound and race it? just curiosity but like i said you cant throw digs at show organisers if there was no lurcher racing advertised then the people that came from ireland cant moan at anybody because it wasnt like it was advertised then it didnt run, maybe the lads who run the show have enuff on their plate running a lurcher championship then an open show then a terrier championship then an open show, maybe the people that run the fair ground aint got 200 or 300 yards of grass spare to give the F+K boys so they can run lurcher racing, think things through before typing them this is a major show and the boys might have enuff on their plate and might not have the time at the end of it to run lurcher racing.

Racing takes up a lot of space and also time, with all the heats to run etc! If you are interested in speed have you tried coursing?

It should be the dogs with the best conformation and movement that win in showing classes, and a dog's build helps with its speed, also with soundness which is surely important with working dogs?
