robsharpe 1
well nearly worlds end storm force winds torrential showers ahh yes the british summer ,ferret food and pest control were the order today ,and as the farmer said to woodga do you get a few ,he said errr yes a few ,we walked a good way with the terriers pushing trhough the reeeds to shift the rabbits sitting tight in the reed bunts ,terriers are no good for this tho , the only caught about 20 in the reeds pretty novice standard ,well its been nearly a decade since i shot with alan and as woodga pointed out he can give him lessons to which he replied n no, it was a great day except the weather but as your there you have to make the most of it ,i was shooting like poo and not afraid to say it before they do , but i still got a few , a lot of the rabbits sitting tight with a few having mixi not good sign for here but as we moved down the moor they cleared up . all in all we had great day am just drying out now to make it worse the sun came out as we came away but hey ho !! a few to peruse up norf heere we have to have all the gear here woodga demonstrates the ditch technique one foot in and one foot on the bank

woodga 170
what a day one farmer said to us you lot must be mad the rain came in sheets with the wind driving it horizontal at times the drops felt like marbles we pushed on and had some brilliant sport and acheived a respectable tally i think all together we had 51,as rob said alan tagged along for the day and he is a lefty and watching him mount and shoot seems so unusual but he was still connecting allthough some shots were at sitting rabbits as for rob his shooting ws below par for him you could tell he was rusty but still i was reproached by both rob and alan for hogging all the shots and for being just to fast for them they even threatend to take the gun off me so they could get some sport to tell the truth they are just to slow to react alans young lad came along and not once did he complain about the weather and he was usefull carrying the ODD rabbit inspite of the weather working the dogs and ejoying the company made the day special just dont dont leave it so long next time lads Edited August 16, 2009 by woodga
