airedale x's ?

hi guys,

after a conversation the other day with a guy i know just wondered if anyone has ever owned, come across, bred, heard of, ect "think ya get the idea" of an airedale cross lurcher ? also pics would be good if poss. just interested as whith the recent"ish" interest in wheaten x's i was thinking if the right stamp of airedale still out there it may make for less litter variation "1st x" due to the airedale being leggy to start with !! any thoughts anyone ?

i saw an add on the local trader airedale x whippet your man said it was a good ferreting and lamping dog!!

they make a hard lurcher if you find the right dogs to start with (redline breed airedale ) also use a bitch airedale and cover her with a greyhound dog or whippet, that way you get the length of back in the off spring and the speed if you do it the other way they will be short coupled and slower.

i have a mate that runs a first cross airdale whippet looks like a mongrel but its as hard as nails and a good nose on it ( its what i call a terrier mans dog ) you couldnt eat what it catches more chance of getting a meal of a heavy goods road kill. bitch is insane but good at what shes worked on. ( i wouldnt think twice about owning her ).

I own a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull airedale theres a guy on here cant remeber his name told me eveything about the bitch and all the rest of the litter are working very hard day and night taking all quarry,ive held my bitch back shes now 22months and this is going to be her 1st flat out season on all game,shes proved but isnt proven yet but there very game,this bloke telt me evey dog from great granparents down to this litter and god we talked on the phone for hours,he even sent me a family tree and photos!Saldy the computer ive got now is to technical for me to upload photos so you will have to look back over older photos!

None of the grandparents are called remus,your dogs mother was pure greyhound,fathers.father was 5/8 greyhound,3/8 bull,its parents were Pie first cross and jess 3/4 bred out of punch,fathers mother was airedale/greyhound x pure bull

Hi mate, can you give me some info on where you get your breeding info from ? As I would have thought the opposite was true; put an Airdale dog to a Greyhound bitch .........

In a first cross wont there be a right mix anyway?? some throwing really racy like the grey and other more to the terrier??

try it and see mate , you will get slower short coupled dogs .

Here's my Redline Airedale, now with a summer haircut: she wasn't woolly coated before, more like a thick Lakeland type jacket, and a mane like a lion. She's not that fast but very tough and goes all day: I'd say pretty indestructable: check out those legs!
