one of the perks of working in a slaughter house is feeding your dogs for free, but the other day i was taking some meaty lamb bones home when my supervisor told me that lamb bones splinter easy and can stick in the dogs throat and that is the last thing i want happening!!! he told me to stick to tripe, hearts tongues etc. my two dogs love bones and the local butcher has stopped getting them due to being charged for disposal so what should i do ???? thanks

Dog can whoof down a bowl of tripe, or what ever, and get Bloat. Pork could give them Trichinnosis. Beef shin bone may prematurely wear their teeth away - or fall off the table and knock them senseless .....

No, I'm sure your super's a nice bloke and is genuine in his concern, but the truth of the matter is that is sheep were That dangerous to dogs, why would any sheep farmer lose sleep over 'stock worriers? He'd just leave them some old ewe and let the lot of them choke themselves to death. Foxes 'n all! :D

Long as they're relatively fresh and certainly in no way cooked, bones are fine. Even chickens. Bones of smaller creatures are usually quite surprisingly soft and relativley spongey, actually. More danger to your dogs from barbed wire fences and trees, mate.

If your boss is insistant, and you still want your dogs to get the benefits? Just fetch them the odd sheeps head home ;)

Lamb Bones with a bit of meat left on,.are PERFECT for running dogs..

They are very similar to the gazehounds natural quarry,...the deer,... ;)

When I was lamping professionally,..I was running seven lurchers on a regular basis and feeding them with the right sort of tucker was paramount...Raw meaty bones did the business for me,...

What would your dog eat in the wild,...Think about it.... ;)

All the best to all true hunters.... regards,.CHALKWARREN....
