hi all just wondering there is an advert in my local paper asking for two beaters and dogs now would he be asking for gun dogs or would terriers that do bush work be suitable or do there need soming abit more steady just need abit of advice before i phone and make my self look saft

Most keepers would prefer no dogs at all unless they are rock steady 100% of the time. If visiting a shoot i always ask what they want, some shoots need hard hunting dogs working in thick cover.

Whatever dog i am training, the most important whistle, voice or hand command is "STOP". Unless you can do that 100% then leave the dogs at home until you have been there and seen the sort of shoot it is.

if he was asking for dogs it would be gun dogs like spaniles or labridours
