TOM TERRIER 173 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Share Posted August 13, 2009 my fourtrak isnt going in 4wd,its got the 4wd hi button on the dash and normal low box on the gesr stick,the light comes on when i press the 4wd button but its staying in 2wd,it whas working and i heard a ratchet type noise from the front!iv jacked the back end up both back wheels turn,but the front wont move,when i press 4wd the front prop starts turning but is not giveing drive to the front wheels?any ideas I had exactly the same problem with my old Fortrack, It was one of the front hubs playing up. The way i found out which one it was, jacked up, took front wheels off, put it to go in 4x4 and you will see the drive shaft spinning and not the hub on one side.try to grip the spinning drive shaft (bit dangerous i know!) to see if the other hub is working ok, the diff should transfer the power to the other side and spin the other hub. I tryed fixing my dodgey hub, it was to do with the auto locking, but it was a ball ache, so just got one off a scraper. Hope you get it sorted Quote Link to post Share on other sites
