billbroon 9
Well guys, got 2 kits and decided to make my garden ferret friendly so they dont escape or that, as my gardens quite small, i didnt have much room to build a run so just converting the whole garden so they can get a good run around when am there. So far ive meshed all around the fence putting a 8 inch bit flat along the ground to try prevent digging under and about the same sticking out from top, which didnt work as my polecat BANDIT managed to work his way around lol. Got a hold of some 4 inch tubing which i decided to stick under ground for them tonight, its about 6ft long and it was dry when i started digging but started raining half way through so u could imagine the mud. Couldnt get a good pic of both kits so heres Bandit by himself and smokey the albino is in his bed and heres some of the garden. . Got some more tubing on way so have to dig some more. atb billy. p.s. hopfully get more pics soon. Quote Link to post

joe14 98
ide put some perspex up the rest of the fence so when they climb the mesh they cant grip onto anything. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
We have mesh panels on our patio so the fezzers can grab some space in the Summer, and believe me, your ferrets will be over that mesh in a flash, ours do Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Mine climbed on the shed roof they were only 10 weeks old as well Quote Link to post
ellir0305 9
Mine climbed on the shed roof they were only 10 weeks old as well does anyone know if there is a way of making a ferret proof fence that could be moved around etc so you coud put up a temporary enclosure? Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
only logical thing i can sugest is a run that bolts together rather than nailed Quote Link to post
mushroom 12,881
The fence pannels that you can get from any where on one side they are overlapping upwards so they create a little ladder and the other downwards so the fezzers can't climb one side if you follow me. This is the side you want facing into the court. Warning all ferrets are houndinis this set up worked for me for ages (over two years) then one day my over a kilo and a half male decided to smash his way into nextdoors garden through the fence and then did the same to theirs and on to freedom. Gutted as I've never seen him since.. Quote Link to post
