willum 89
a fixed scope will always have the better night value( physics). the optimum would be the 8x56 for night shooting( see docter pig scope)zeiss, leica, swarowski, kahles are the top scopes(imo in that order,i have used all four) docter is very good.choose the make(and model) that suits your style of shooting and caliber( no good putting the zeiss x72 mm on a .22rf!) what do you shoot? at what range? at what time of day or night? for lamping i would not choose a big scope( objective measurment) the available light will be more than enough for a 42-50mm of good make the others are made to shoot without a lamp( and to a certain degree do!) i would like to hear on which you decide. atb i have hawk endurance 2.5-10x56 on my 22.250 they are a good scope for the price of them i paid 280 quid for mine and they are pretty clear my mates got sworawski scopes on his 243 and he said for what mine are they are a decent scope not to far off of his Quote Link to post
