v-max 2
Lucky man with no budget so for scopes i would be looking as the swarovski Z3-Z5 range ie the Z5 5x25x52P or the zeiss not sure model but it is 6x24x56 ill with lutec coating & get a sun shade for the scope you choose. I rate the S&B very highly but they only do the PM11 models & some have 34mm tube that match the zoom/mag kinda scopes of the zeiss/swarovski Z-models. Due to the 34mm tube its a no,no you dont need that. As for scope mount i would got down the light force/clusion range & as i said get a sunshade to stop glare from lamp. Quote Link to post

rjimmer 4
When I was looking for a scope, I looked through a Habitch 7 x 50 and a S & B 8 x 56. I thought the smaller Habitch was better so I ordered one in 8 X 56. Edited September 11, 2009 by rjimmer Quote Link to post
Shamo 319
If you got no limit for budget, why bother with a Lamp? Go for a good night scope, with good IR Torch. Quote Link to post

RicW 67
Can anyone give me advice on what lamping set up would be best for using on my 243 rifle ,, Kahles 8x56. Full stop. No messing. Wide field, fast target acquisition, designed for low light conditions, oldest riflescope makers in the world. Not cheap but you only buy 'em once. Seriously, bruv, look up Kahles scopes before you make your decision. They are not well known in the UK but they are SUPERB OPTICS! Ric Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
a fixed scope will always have the better night value( physics). the optimum would be the 8x56 for night shooting( see docter pig scope) zeiss, leica, swarowski, kahles are the top scopes(imo in that order,i have used all four) docter is very good.choose the make(and model) that suits your style of shooting and caliber( no good putting the zeiss x72 mm on a .22rf!) what do you shoot? at what range? at what time of day or night? for lamping i would not choose a big scope( objective measurment) the available light will be more than enough for a 42-50mm of good make the others are made to shoot without a lamp( and to a certain degree do!) i would like to hear on which you decide. atb Quote Link to post
