lurchergrrl 1,441
I'm wanting to buy some Esk Muck Boots. Got two questions tho: I road walk a lot as well as tramp around in the country side. I've been told the soles wear really quick on Muck Boots. True or false? Also, I'd want to be able to wear them most of the year. Will I sweat like a fat girl in them?
ssssh1forthepot 0
Your funny you have such a way with words, I actually spat coffee all over my computer screen when I read ''Will I sweat like a fat girl in them''
LDR 29
Its like one of those questions that answers itself.................."Does my bum look big in this??" Well if you've got a big arse then its going to look big whatever............ ............If you find yourself sweating like a fat lass........lol..............its not cos of a pair of wellies is it................... ................but seriously though i got a pair of muck boots last year and they are the best boots i've ever had, not had any fat lass sweating problems yet in them.................. lurchergrrl 1,441
LDR your missus must deserve a medal for putting up with you I ain't no fat girl I assure you - a ropy tattoo'd bint by the description of some bald Northeasterner, but not fat (got a new tatt as well ). But some clothing etc can make even the waifiest of birds feel like a sausage - wrapped in skin and fit to burst. The boots are designed to keep you warm, this I know, but I just don't want sweaty gams at the end of a trek out with the mutts. I've been wearing cheapo Dunlop wellies for ages now, I want a good pair that's comfy and long lasting. And I don't drive so everywhere I go, I walk to. Gotta be able to walk a good distance on the road in the Mucks without wearing them down over fast.
neil r 1,908
I had the esks for work and the grip is rubbish on them and dont belive the breathable nonsence they put in the leaflets

My misses is lucky to have me around keeping it real............... ...............i think of all her health benefits and knock her out a protein shake everyday too.......... ................its her birthday tomorrow so she'll get 2 of them, one first thing then another just before bed, who said romance is dead??? But yeah the wellies should be alright, or maybe you should just invest in a good pair of proper boots, meindl burma pros maybe??? i got a pair of them and they are spot on, i'm just a lazy twat so cant always be arsed to clean them and re proof them every now and again, but if you can be f****d on with that then i'd say they'll be better than any wellies, mine are 100% waterproof when done and comfy like slippers from the word go!!!!!! Not that i wear slippers, cos they're for puffs and girls!!!!!!!!

T78 4
i've got a pair and i love them BUT the grip is sh*te.it wears quickly and they're not that comfortable for walking very long(more than a couple of miles) distances in.also your feet do sweat in them but i beleive this is just neoprene wellies in general.a good general wellie but not one for doing marathon hikes in! TOMO 27,358
do a search through my posts, lurchergirl i did a post about them with pics, my sole wore smooth in less then 6 month, yes i did wear them daily, and a bit of raod walking. they do make your feet sweat like hell, but that will happen with all neoprean lined wellys at this time of year. personly i like the "LA CROSSE" welly, theres a pic of both of them on my post, it has a walking boot sole and are still going stong a year later, the neoprean is slightly thinner on this boot, and its welcome, theres allso i thin fleese over the neoprean, a verry very good boot in my opinion , and far better than the muck, also its rubber to the top so there is no ripping on the upper boot that happens with the muck. and the ankle is narrower giving more support. hang on ile find the pic , you can get them from uk covers, £

lurchergrrl 1,441
Many many thanks Tomo! Those boots look good. I shall have a gander at them ... took a quick peek on UK Covers but they don't seem to have them - at least not at the price you mentioned? Nice slippers LDR. Your missus will need to dip them now before she puts them back on.

Don't you think that may have had something to do with you being a bit of a fatty eh Tomo?? You'd wear anything out if it had to carry the 21 stone you are........
