mushroom 13,481
Nope you were right first time high cragg on the slopes of helvellyn taken in january. I kid you not it looks calm and serene now but the sh1t hit the fan at the top when a mini storm decided to come in if you've been then you'll know the wall pens at the top that provide some shelter, well they did for about an hour then I made leggs down in a window. Funny thing was the weather report was all clear for the day, lucky that when in the mountains I'm always prepared. Anyone without a clue and it would of been a mountain rescue job it was that bad. ATB Kie Same happened to my dad and brother, weather report for the area was fine and a snow storm blew in at the top of Helvellyn lucky they were also prepared. They had to help some idiots down who where in t-shirts and shorts I'll tell you another story we were walking back down from scafel pike coming down the west face in october, I said to the mrs is it me or is there two idiots in civi gear walking along the lords rake out came the binos and yep they were at the top in one hell of a dangerous position about to descend one of the sree fields with light falling fast unfecin believable. We carried on our way down but watching to see where they would come down. Eventually they made their way down safely and ran over to us shouting for us to stop we waited till they caught up guess what no map, compass or proper gear apart from a summer windstopper not ideal for mountains in october with their fickle weather and not a clue where they were. What did they want? you guessed it help "Can you tell us the way to seathwaite?" Yeah mate back up that mountain and 10 miles over serious terrain and weather and no light have you got tourches?? no what a surprise told em to walk the long way round by roads coz if they went that way it would be a) f#cking stupid wasting mountain rescue's time and c) certain death. They p1ss me off these idiots do.
