fishing match on saturday

hello lads iv got a fishing match this saturday on the calder/hebble canal in wakefield, any of you lads fifshing there? im in the 15-18 yr old section. Went there las year was a good crack a few hundred lads there. dint fish well at all though. Iv heard chopped worm and caster there is deadly there. can't wait :11: . just wondering if anyone else is going?

never fished the canal but on the canals i do fish when feeding choped worm try red magggot or chop a worm in half or a lobworms tail on hook red mag always works over chopped worm

well lads im fekkin pissed off at the moment, the winner a couple of pegs up from me got 6lb 7oz. i come with about 2lb 30z of small roach, perch, roach skimmer/hybrids. about two hours into the match i was feeding caster and a bit of hemp to the far bank for abput ten minutes. then i fished a couple of worms over it, first cast hooked one snapped after about 1 minute of playing the fish, chub i think. so i went onto 3.5lb hooklength and got snapped another two times :wacko: . which really did confuse me . i don't know if there were big chub or pike picking up the worm, but i reckon if i got them three fish in i would of one the match, but oh well doesnt work out everytime does it.
