shell 42
The pictures might not be showing it well, but if a puppy so young has a round bloated looking tummy like that it probably needs worming. You can get wormers from dog supermarket type places, or best bet would be the vets. Only cost a quid or so. Re crate - get to Argos or somewhere (Pet supermarkets sell them as well) and buy a proper dog cage... They have a tray in the bottom these days so if they have an accident in them they're much easier to clean up. They also give them their own space to get out of the way of kids etc if they want to! As for food... 4 times a day. Small meals. We usually work on 2 meat (complete or flesh) and 2 milk (weetabix, milk and biscuits). At about 12/14 weeks cut them down to 3 a day. You can tell when they've had enough... tummies go round and big, and likewise if they haven't had enough they'll look and feel thin. Hope this is of some use to you! Guest busterdog
All sound advise, but go PEE PEE , he'll be going WALKIES next. Should i of said it like this then... The puppy pads are good mate they soak up all the piss and runny shit unlike news paper. Ebay is cheap for them No mate, but it just wouldn't be the same with out some puppy shit between your toes now would it.

jac 12
I give as much as he can eat , but two handfuls of dry with a bit of meat is good. if you have small hands (not Adult), then 3 handfuls.
Scallywag 78
There might be a guide on the back of the bag the food comes in - have a look. It should tell you roughly how much food to give. Also, I'd say go to the vet for wormers - some of the ones you buy in shops aren't all that effective and if the vet gives it to you you'll know you've got the dose right too. They usually have their first jab at 8 weeks old. The second one is one or two weeks after that, it depends on what brand of vaccine the vet uses.

Just feed him X amount and when he isn't interested in it after 10 mins pick it up. small amounts and very ofte is the key, make sure the pup is on good quality food aswell. Some package stuff out there is awful

Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
Where bouts are you? I get the Argos crates cheap & have some at home- I would definately worm the pup- they are born with worms so dont think its something the puppy has picked up. You need vacs as well specially for a puppy with no immunity.
