Waz 4,262
Yep 6 months, and then blood test to make sure the rabies jab worked. I think the dog needs to be 12 weeks old to have the rabies jab, so pup will be 9 months minimum before on uk soil.

potstillgold 2
can anyone give me some advice on the importation of a pup from spain. ive looked on the defra site and from what i can see it says that they need a blood test and then another one 6 months later to gain entry or quaranteen{which aint what i want]. i could be wrong because im as thick as shit and cant read properly lol. i know in the eu you can travel in and out with a passport but does this apply to a 12 week pup or is it ok if the parents have had the rabies jab. someone please help: thanks awen awen, don't know how far you have come with this project, but here's what you do. contact a reputable breeder and ask if he will be prepared to sell you a dog and board the dog for you. a great vet to help with the process is dr. elizabeth neve, of AAHVET in Pozuelo, Madrid. I have used her myself. your alano pup needs a microchip before it has a rabies vaccine and needs to be 12 weeks old for that then you need to wait 30 days before the blood is drawn for testing. technically, it's 6 months from the blood test date. 10 months minimum without delay. the blood test is free in Spain but the samples still go to Granada. You can pay approx 120Euro for a private blood test which is usually sent to Denmark or a site near Edinburgh for analysis, this only will really help you if the dog is older but I've also had a sample contaminated and needed to start over through the Spanish system. i'm not going to decide the price for another breeder, but the going rate is approx. 120Euro per month board. sneaking one in the car is not the answer, you'll be heavily fined and required to pay for quarantine. i've imported Alanos to UK, Norway and USA since 2003. my site is www.ambasorejas.com
