An evenings carp fishing at a local water

Hi there all was fishing yesterday evening at a local water! On arrival and a quick glance over the lake i decided to head my way to a small chanel which runs behind the main part of the lake! i had fished these spot before hand and actually lost a few nice fish the chanel i was fishing was probably between 3 and 4 foot deep! I found a little quiet spot under neath some over hanging trees where more or less straight away i see a few nice looking carp patrolling the chanel! i quickly and quietly got my 2 rods in the water and chucked a few freebies around my hook baits! after 20 minutes or so my right hand rod was showing the tell tail signs of nice couple of carp noses in the silt feeding! after a few heart pounding moments i was into my 1st carp after a short scrap it was in the net a 18lb 13oz common!

Then after about 40 minutes or so it had all gone really quiet with no sign of fish anywhere! i decided to have a slow walk along the chanel about 100 yards further down where i see a few more fish baited up under a branch hanging over and walked bk to myswim and waited a while and returned to the baited spot where i see tails up feeding again, i obviously decided to move! But my move didnt prove any success for over an hour and i walked bk to my 1st swim and sods law there they was feeding i couldnt believe it! but after i walking bk to my rods i see 5 or 6 big carp patrolling the edge of the bank and later that evening a landed a 23lb 3oz common!

By this time it was time to start packing up and i started packing my rod which i caught the second fish on and my bankstick and alarms when all of a sudden my other rods alarm give of a single bleep then the hanger all the way up i couldnt believe it iwas into another carp this one out ofhte 3 gave up the best fight and after a little while i landed it and it was another common but this one the smallest weighing in at 17lb 14oz! http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv74/fi...cket/17lb14.jpg

 

Just go's to show not always the bigger carp give a good fight!

 

Just want to give a big thanks to my mate paul who was fishing right round the other side of the lake but still came round and photo'd all my fish! cheers buddy much appreciated you know i'd do it for you!! tight lines
