I'm not going to sell it just interested as I've seen them on evilbay cheap and was wondering how they can do itand make a profit.

Next I'm going to make a single poachers box.

( i bought 1 because the one i made is sheeeeeeeeite) & i paid £15 + £9 pp for a double bow back off e bay, there is a few people on here & other forums who make & sell these type of boxes, i think they make little on the boxes but they also set nets, hutches made to order etc & some have got pet shops as well so its not a main source of income, just another line to add to products,i wish youall the best with your boxes they should sell & yes if i didnt have 2 i would buy 1 !! regards john

Hi Punydan

Great looking box there mate :clapper: Just wondering what you used to fix the ply together? On the first pig (00033) you can sort of see little circles but can't see if you've used screws or what to butt-joint your plywood sides together. Also, the hinges and clasps - they look screwed in, but the screws must be seriously short??

I have also been trying to find those sort of clasps on the internet - but can't find anywhere. Any ideas??

I have just built myself a new double-decker hutch with a sloping felt roof and slide out trays for easy cleaning. I have some spare ply and want to make a box - pretty much exactly like yours. Be good to have the dimensions too if you have them.

All the best,

Dimensions are roughly 15" long X 9" deep X 71/2" high. For construction I just pinned and glued (pva i hope it holds in wet). I just punched the heads and filled then sanded. Its a bit rough which will become more apparent when I varnish it. I may even paimt it to disguise the roughness. The screws werent small I just filed them after.

Have a go its as easy as building a hutch, use 3mm on the back; glue, bend and pin as you bend.

I got the catches from my local hardware store (not a big shed), whilst getting permission to work the proprietors land with gun, dog and fert.

If you can't find them try online, just google spring catches.

Atb Dan.

Thanks Dan

So what sort of "pins" - do you mean panel pins with the tiny heads? If so, what length were they?

Also - I've googled everything I can think of for those catches, but can't find anywhere!
