hunter89 3
i'm going on a fishing trip at the end of the month to the river moy in co. mayo ireland but i dont know what type of tackle to take, the method we will be using is trotting worms and prawn i do quite abit of carp fishing so will a 12 ft rod with 2 3/4 pound test curve be to heavy? also i have been told that i am best to use braided line instead of mono because you get a better contact, what type of braid would be best to use? floating or sinking? thanks Quote Link to post
country-kid 2
in braid i don't think there is a floating and sinking its just like a mono and sinks. except with mono you get stretch whereas with braid you don't so thats where the better contact comes from!! Quote Link to post

Meroman 105
I have fished the moy on numerous occasions and regardless of what bait/set up you use the water has to be right, that is not in flood and at the same time not too low. Check out the link below for updates. Either way you will enjoy the experience, good luck. http://www.northwestfisheries.ie/fishing/reports/index.htm Quote Link to post
