well lads im just back from england and did a spot of hunting with relations and friends of theirs using full bred whippets

 

a friend of mine back here has 2 whippets and they seem alot smaller here than the english ones

 

can anyone tell me why this is??

I have noticed the whippets of today seem bigger than the whippets of 30years ago in england any way could be a bit of non ped blood crept in along the way.But its onley my opinion.atvb dell

are they pure whippet's alot have greyhound blood in them some where in there lines

it could just be because of their breeding, my dad has a pure bred whippet dog thats 19 and a half inch and his mate has another pure bred whippet dog that is 23 inch .

my whippet dog is 21. and to me a bit big for a whippet dog but he isnt above average, a lot are making 22.

you could be right there my mate had a bitch full ped with papers was22and 1/2 to me was awhippet xgrey but app the rest of litter were no bigger than 19

Why worry about height a whippet around the 32lb mark will easily deal with rabbits and capable of bigger quarry.

this is my bitches sire 23 inch ss lines like a mini bull grey retrieves charlie aswell as bunnys very handy whippet

alot off his pups are going irland 2 of my bitches litter brothers have gone over to use

 

 

this is my bitch 21tts 10 months old out of him. she's as solid as they come like a breeze block

That 23 inch whippet Pennymeadow Blackjack Of rabbitrunner came out of a 19 inch bitch mated back to her 20inch uncle all 3 pups were 22-23 inch yet the same bitch mated to an unrelated dog produced pups that were 20 inch dogs 19 inch bitches.
