If it was the program i watched i though the woman said it would be tested, if found to be a pit bull/pit bull cross then it would be destroyed...otherwise they would return it to its owner.....

 

pit bulls and their crosses have been illegal to own over here for a few years now...even though there are many out there still!! not too far away from here the little girl got killed by one a year or two ago....

 

friendly... they could be prancing about with a pink ribbon it their hair for all i care, at the moment they are illegal and should not be owned...certainally not by the kind of idiots the program last night showed and or recently the 'my dog is my weapon' [or something like that] program :wankerzo4: .

 

tis a bit daft though, cos i think quite soon the legislation will be changing, they are thinking of getting rid of the dangerous dogs act which calls makes certain breeds illegal, and opening it up to any dogs of any breed that are aggressive.

 

It was my understanding that the DANGER DOG ACT was held to be unworkable. I cannot find where it says all pit bull type dogs have got to be killed. Surely every dog should be judged on its personal merits as any breed of dog can be gentle or dangerous. I have dogs that are sometimes called Chinese fighting dog however all they want to do is run about being chased a playing. Notwithstanding what I have just said any breed of dogs can be dangerous. Generally speaking it is the way the dog is brought up that really matters therefore the laws should be directed at people more so than breeds of dogs that gets a bad press. For example banning people who use their dog as a WEAPON. I know we all have the right to our views but it is upsetting to see a friendly dog killed when there are other options.

agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments but at the moment they are illegal and are pts if found....that said i think the tide has turned and a lot of professional 'dog people' have done a good job of convincing legislators that it is more often the owners and not the dog/breed of dog that is the decider, hence there may be a change in the law so that no individaul breed is discriminated against.

after all a 'dangerous' breed dog that is kept under control should pose no risk at all, cos it is always under control!! [comes down to the owner]

 

always sad to see any animal lose out due to poor ownership....

You can also give them enough attention so they remove any doubt as to being fools and RSPB sympathisers.

I have just been watching a programme on the police and they put down a dog that was friendly because it was a pit bull.

I have been looking for the legislation that says if a friendly dog that is not aggressive has to be killed because it looks like a pit bull. What about a big staffy which are great family dogs? Someone will always take on friendly dog so why kill them. I know I am going of topic but I have a soft spot for dogs.

When you are trying to get out of hole it is a good idea Rat Boy to stop digging and look up as you may sell the roses. As for your replies they say nothing they are just insulting and they make you look like a low life bottom feeder, a bit like ArchieHood.
