having kept and bred borders ...( bought for the mrs) family pets... my interest in working terriers has developed...

ive recently read the fell terrier, middleton striain of working terrier...

ive come across bill brightmore's strain... now dont crucifie me for this... cos i know if it works that is the most important thing, but we all have a type we have taken a liking too..

any of you work brightmore black stuff? or have you, and how'd you get on?

thanks in advance.. rich ;)

in the 70's, bill and gary used the same strain of fell terrier i.e. from barker / wilkinson stuff, and used each others dogs for lining. bill went on to the blue and tans and eventually blacks, and gary went the opposite way i.e. a bit of welsh. i followed the old line of middleton terrier and used a little bit of brightmoor stuff in my own stuff, and produced some excellent workers.

BREEDER.... are you still working the oldmiddleton/brightmore lines today??? is the new middleton stuff for rossettes??
yes but you have to look hard for the right stuff I do not breed form middleton stuff because he put pedigree welsh terrier in his lines back in the 80s I think they still work? and if you look hard a few lads still got old brightmore lines ;)
