Tallyho 181
my little jill has started to lose her fur , it started just after she came out of season , it started just on her face but all that is now growing back, but she is now loosing it round her back and back legs and her front feet are bald , , do ferrets malt as when i stroke her its just like when a dog is malting , she is scratching a bit but i dont know if it is because she is malting thats making her itch , she is fine other than that, feeding and drinking and playing about with the kits , so could it just be this time of year and nothing to worry about . Kay 3,709
not that i can see kay , so is it quite normal for them to go completly bald in places ????? you say bald , do you mean its exposing skin or a soft downy coat , the guardhairs are shedding so it should leave a smooth coated ferret minus the guard hairs untill the next moult Quote Link to post

ade33uk 86
I had a ferret that went completely bald, she looked absolutely awful it was to do with her losing a litter and then having a jill jab messed with her hormones the vet said . shes fine now grew back lovely and she looked amazingly sleek as a skinhead ferret .
