ellir0305 9
i went out for a quick mooch last night after being told to elevate my foot after work by the chiropodist (i had my nail ripped off on wednesday) anyway i caught a couple of rabbits in the fenns the other day and decided i should smoke the biggest after giving the smaller one to the stinkers. so i got the fire going and put the bunny on to smoke and figured it would take about an hour so i grabbed the ratty having unfinished business with the farms population of rats and ran/limped to the farm. after a quick scoot round the grain and cow shed i was empty handed so i went of behind the machinery shed and saw two doves sitting on the electric lines. THWACK the first went down with a perfect headshot and not a flap at 28 yards, his mate flew another few so to ensure a clean kill i edged round again. spotted him broughht up the ratty and THWACK, bollocks as he fell straight into the centre of a bramble hedge. so after retrieving the one dove i set off up the yard to check the last grain shed and a spot where i had seen a couple of bunnies. so i gets to te field and two bunnies bolt oh no, but its ok they were charging like madmen after each other and didnt clock me. so after a 20 yard crawl on my stomach which took a fair while, i popped up behind some grass cover, brought on the crosshairs and THWACK, bunny backflip i reloaded quickly incase of a dreaded scurry but not even a kick the accupel went straight through. so after thumbing and legging the bunny i picked up the dove and made tracks just in time for my smoked rabbit tea. heres the pics atb rob (there is a thread in the living of the land section on me rabbit if you want more info) Quote Link to post

ellir0305 9
nice one mate.. and what sawdust/chippings you use? oak? it was green apple wood prunings as they smoke well look at this link well the link isnt working anymore but if you go onto the living off the land section on here and use the search function and search i think it was 'smoked rabbit' and go on the topic which i started 'ellir0305' you should be fine i also did some dove crowns marinated in guiness and worchester sauce and chilli they were even better than the rabbit Edited August 16, 2009 by ellir0305 Quote Link to post
