rickyspringer 15
the best thing for you to do is google it, some great info on it mate. My own personal conclusion is that linebreeding is great if its done only when lining quality dogs, nothing too immediate in the pedigree a few generations back is the way I do it, be sure to have an outcross a few generations down the line also, something quality again to bring more diversity to the gene pool. Its a a complex thing but not to be misunderstood with in-breeding. my motto is if we can't do it then why should a dog. RS Quote Link to post

coursing_lad 45
as with any breeding , you will inherit the good points , BUT also the bad points . even within line breeding , were your keeping the blood tight , your still going to inherit dogs good and bad points , so why add the hassle of possible further problems due to breeding realated dogs. just find a suitable working stud .lesser chance of complications . riohog 5,816
theres only one way to line breed correctly and that is to breed tight and cull out any defective animals in the line to stop these defects being geneticly passed on only keeping and breeding the very best!! Quote Link to post
