perished locator collar

I've recently got a mk1 15' knocker and collar, at a bargain price. It all works fine but the collar is begining to perish, and probably wont last much longer. Could any one tell me if and how I can change it for a new one. Any help much appreciated.

Rub the leather with Vaseline mate should make it last a little longer.Someone on here did say how to change it but can't remember who or how. P1

im sure if memory serves me right brimmer on this site knows how yo strip the collars down and fit new collar straps

on the inside of the transmiter theres a thin resin strip, cut down both sides of this to the leather then ease the collar out, slide the new collar in and fill the gap back up with glue

Thanks for the responses guys. I think I see the resin strip, now to take the plunge and cut it.

Did it and had to perform reconstructive surgery, I think this has happened before by the looks of it. Still all good now.

Thanks for the offer Hily but I see one a little cheaper on evilbay.

another way, if the leather either side of transmitter is good, is to simply cut the transmitter off,leaving an inch of leather either side, and then stitch/rivet on top of a new collar
