artic 595
I tried many throughout the years and winchesters suit best for my Ruger 10/22. How is your mag? Any jamming yet? Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
10/22 should be shooting about an inch or so, depending on which 10/22, the trigger etc! Quote Link to post
elvolcan 0
was using remington subsonics yeah that will be the problem, they are not good for accuracy. Try using Eley subsonics, and the grouping should be within an inch with a Ruger 10/22 Also a better scope will help alot, a 4x32 is really not good, use a 3-9x40 at the minimum, preferably 5-15x40 or similar i would say. border man 2
thanks all for the info. no jamming so far . looks like i'll be investing in different ammo and a better scope. maybe a full strip down and clean .what cleaning regieme do you boys use Quote Link to post
bobndog 0
Check the barrel securing screw. If the wood gets compressed through overtightening the tip of the screw will contact the barrel, this can ruin accuracy. It will show as a bright ring on the barrel (inside the bush that is attached to the barrel) where the blue has been removed. To cure this, cut a couple of threads off with a hacksaw and replace. the Verminator 0
on a good day mine will do 1/4 inch if every thing is right and i do my bit, that with Winchester subsonics, although mine is custom. i would expect atleast 1 inch. try some differnet ammo Quote Link to post
Bluelungbutter 1
I tried loads of different types of ammo, finally settled for eley sub. Shoved on a 3-9X50 scope, shot it off a bipod and could still only manage an inch at 50 metres. I often found the first one out of the mag was a flyer too?? Mine was new to me as well and i think with a bit of fettling it could have shot a lot better but to be honest i traded it in for a CZ 452 and never looked back.
