Mr_Logic 5
I am mulling getting a Winchester Coyote Light in 243 for long range fox and some target work. Not really had any experience of these, was going to get a Tikka T3 Varmint, but the guy doesn't want to p/ex my Remington SPS Tactical. From what I can find they seem to shoot pretty well and don't weigh much given the fluted barrel, and the stock and recoil pad are the sorts of stuff you get as aftermarket bits for other rifles. But, tad unsure as not really run into Winchester rifles. Thoughts? Cheers muchly Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
soild rifles and i think better then the rem. but not as popular over here. thats a good thing there cheaper. and jewell trigger on mine works a treat. nice bolt to Quote Link to post
coldweld 65
Better finish than the rem and IMO better all round than the T3 lite ! [bolt/stock/barrel] They were more expensive than the t3 when i bought mine but worth it as it was only £40 ish. Need's the jewel trigger to be at it's best ! Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
I think by the time it's all screw cut it's about 100 more, but again looks worth it, especially when you consider the prices in the US - T3 at $519 and Winchester at $1000, give or take. Coldweld do you carry yours about? How is it for weight and balance? Quote Link to post
provarmint 25
Good review in ST magazine in 22-250 cal. http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/rifles...fle_review.html Edited August 2, 2009 by provarmint Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
From that review it seems like an accurate, smooth actioned, all weather rifle. Looks good Quote Link to post

coldweld 65
Yes Mr L i carry it on two farms that i walk and in the truck for the rest, Mine has a T8 and means the balance when carrying is at the mod so have to walk mussel down , but is light rifle and not a pain. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Winchester used to make some well decent rifles, not sure about Browning, but if Miroku are well involved you will not find much wrong with these! Chop the barrel and stick some lead in the butt if they are too front heavy, just like us sad T3 Lite owners have to! Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
mine is around 12 to 13 pound with scope and mod and bipod Quote Link to post
coldweld 65
The fluted barrel would not look good for resale if you chopped it ! Lead in the stock is ok but i would rather have it lighter and cope with it barrel down. IMO the coyote lite is a very good package bar the heavy trigger pull. Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
I shall go and have a look at this one. If I cut it, it would only be an inch as I wouldn't cut down to the flutes, likely leave as-is and enjoy higher velocities anyway. Equally, may still go with something lighter, sounds like it'll be borderline for me. Thanks all. Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
Well thanks for the advice guys, went and had a look, seemed pretty good to me so bought it, and also got the screwcut done at the same time. Had it to Bisley today, once I borrowed a shorter bipod from Deker for the afternoon and got comfy, basically just v-bulls, so shoots nicely My little CZ did pretty well as well, pretty much all in the v-bull with that as well, can't complain!
